He was buried in a casket, which he built for himself eight years ago..
He was not a carpenter, but knew how to use tools and decided that when the time came to go, he might as well prepare his own casket.
Undertaker Dan Bass lined the casket for him..
He was born on a farm until fifteen years ago, when he moved to Hillsboro.
He m three times;

3 ] Ana Grissom, who died 1917.
A daughter, Mrs Sam Spears of Coffeen, died April 1931.
6 other children preceded him in death.
2 sisters are also dead.
Burial was in Casey Cem.
