Private David O. Campbell was a member of Co. G of the 77th Regiment of Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He enrolled in Peoria County, IL. Was mustered 2 Sept 1862. He died on October 3. 1862 while he was home on furlough at the age of 22y., 11m., 3d. His earthly remains were laid to rest in the Campbell Cemetery.

Gilbert M. Campbell was united in mar-
riage, in Iroquois county, Illinois, Decem-
ber 25, 1867, with Mrs. Amy Campbell, the
relict of David O. Campbell, a soldier of
the Civil war who died six weeks after his
marriage. He was a member of tbs Seventy-
seventh Regiment. Illinois Volunteer Infan-
try, and died of fever at Peoria, Illinois.
Mrs. Campbell is a daughter of Abraham
and Eliza (Girrard) Ditmars. Her father
died in Ohio in the sixtv-seventh year of his
age, and his wife died March 14, 1891.
Note: David O Campbell's military file indicates he died of typhoid fever. He was home on leave and died "at home" in Millbrook, Peoria, IL.
