Goldie F. Gray (nee Roth)
Age 82. Born March 18, 1918 in Fairmont, MO, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 28, 2000 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survived by her husband of 62 years, Claudius King Phillip Gray; a son Marvin Claudius (Dorothy) of Lockport; a daughter, Diane Fern (Keith) Halsey of Manhattan; four grandchildren, Jody (Wayne) Mills of CA, PJ (Jennifer) of Lockport, Shawn (Corrie) Halsey of Shorewood and Brett (Summer) Halsey of Plainfield; five great grandchildren, Nathan and Hannah Mills, Taylore and Kaitlyn Gray and Logan Halsey; brother, Joel (Betty) Roth of Basco and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Fannie (Stanford) Roth; three brothers, Floyd, Edward, and William Jack; two sisters, Zelma Newland and Esther Clark.
A member of the Christian Faith Center in Wilmington and a lifetime member and past Worthy Matron of Elwood Masonic Lodge Order of the Eastern Star. Was a member of the First Christian Church in Dallas City, IL.
Lying in state Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Faith Center 1800 S. Water St., Wilmington. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Thursday, January 4, 2001 visitation and service will be held in Dallas City, IL. Interment Byler Cemetery in Dallas City, IL.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Order of Eastern Star, Elwood Chapter 761.
