|Birth: ||Jul. 7, 1871|
|Death: ||May 8, 1907|
Miss Kishia Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen was born in Buckhorn Township, Brown County, Illinois, July 7, 1871; died at Canadian, Texas, May 8, 1907, aged 35 years, 10 months, 1 day.
She united with the Baptist Church in 1895 and lived a consistent Christian until death. She leaves to mourn their loss four sisters: Mrs Lorenzo Davis and Mrs. Mark Syrcle of near Siloam, Ill; Mrs. Dehart of Griggsville, Ill.; Mrs. Susie Nostz of Kellerville, Ill; and four brothers; Jack Allen of Siloam, Ill; Henry of Billings, Okla.; Joshua of Coats, Kans; and Wiley of Beaver County, Okla., her father and mother having preceded her to the better land.
Funeral services were held at the home of her sister Mrs. Lorenzo Davis near Siloam, Ill., Saturday May 11 at 2 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. Hamilton of Baylis and her remains were laid to rest in the Bowman graveyard near her old home beside those of her father and mother.
She had been in poor health for several years and her brother Henry went to the southwest with her with the hope that she would be benefited by a change of climate, he also secured the best medical aid possible, but the ravages of the dreaded disease, consumption, could not be stayed; yet, now that she is gone, it is a source of consolation to the brothers and sisters to realize that they did everything possible to prolong her sweet life and make her as comfortable as possible during her protracted illness.
