IN MEMORY OF TRESSIE TURNOW
Tressie Sophia, the eight year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turnow, died at the home of her parents Tuesday evening, September 8th, 1914, at 8 o'clock, after an illness of only a few days with appendicitis and peritonitis for which she submitted to an operation Tuesday morning. Three doctors and a trained nurse were in attendance, but of no avail.
Tressie Turnow was born December 26th, 1905, and at the time of her death was 8 years, 9 months, and 12 days of age.
Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon, at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. Ide, of Princeton and the burial was in the Bowen cemetery. Many relatives and friends of the sorrowing family were present, and as they looked upon the sweet placid little body in its white casket, surrounded by beautiful and fragrant flowers, their hearts swelled in sympathy for the bereaved family. But let us not think of little Tressie as dead, but as living.
