Mabel M. Ashwill, 94, a resident of the Lane House Nursing Care Center, died at 8:30 am Tuesday in the facility.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ashwill was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and a former member of the Jackson Extension Homemakers Club. In addition to Crawfordsvile, she had lived in Hillsboro and Tuscola, Ill.
She was born Jan. 8, 1902, to George William and Elsie C. Engiland Heerdt in Douglas County, Ill. She married John J. Ashwill June 28, 1923.
Survivors include two sons, Lloyd of Tuscola, Ill., and Elvin of Hillsboro; two daughters, Margaret Hartman of Tuscola and Helen Shaw of Kingman; two sisters, Lanora Turner of Decatur, Ill. and Agusta Compton of Urbana, Ill; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown with Brian Hagler and Alfred Hallert officiating. Friends may call from 9-10:30 am at the funeral home.
Burial is scheduled for 2:30 pm CST in Bourbon-Lowe Cemetery in Arthur, Ill.
