Anna Mary Boner, 101, of West Frankfort, Illinois, went home to be with her heavenly father, at 12:47 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort. She was born March 2, 1912 in Makanda, Illinois, to Neal and Mary Shadowens. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph Boner, 5 brothers, a half-sister and brother.
Surviving are her children, two sons, Mike Boner and companion Karen Taylor of West Frankfort and Paul (Bobbi) Jones of Ste. Genevieve, MO., daughter Joann (Alan) Beck of Evansville, Indiana, and step-daughter Peggy Stephens of Marion, Illinois; grandchildren, Michelle Boner, Michael (Kasey) Boner of West Frankfort, Angie (Mike) Bradley, Tracie Beck and fiancée Terry DeWig, Jeff (Lindsay) Beck of Evansville, Indiana, Rick (Anita) Jones of Florissant, MO., Alan (Melody) Ozment of Palm Bay, Florida, and Debbie Roan of West Frankfort; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a great- great-great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
Mary was a long time resident of West Frankfort. She attended the Heights Church of God for many years. She enjoyed going to church, gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Her quick wit, funny sayings and most importantly, her gift of spreading God's word will be remembered by many. A special thank you to the staff at Frankfort Care Center for taking such good care of her over the years.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Parker - Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Joe Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the Boner Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
