Arnold William DeVore, 61, of Harrisburg, in the Rudement community, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1946, in East St. Louis, the son of Ralph and Ruth Stinson DeVore. He was married to Mary Agin, who survives. He was a retired coal miner and carpenter and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Roger DeVore of Bluff Springs and Arnold DeVore Jr. of Peoria; one stepdaughter, Georgia Hedge of Mt. Carmel; two brothers, John DeVore of Omaha, Neb. and Ralph DeVore of Rushville; one sister, Delores White of South Caroline; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will precede burial in Blockhouse Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2008. The Rev. Leroy Hicks will officiate. There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of the arrangements.
