HARRISBURG -- Viva Bethel, 93, of Harrisburg passed away 5:43 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her residence.

She was born April 4, 1919, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Ulyessess and Mary Ann Hudgins Morris. She was married to Lee Bethel June 20, 1936, in Harrisburg and he preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1980. She was a member of New Castle Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Bill and Sue Bethel of Harrisburg, Mark and Faye Bethel of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Frank and Ruth Bethel of Cleveland, Tenn.; nine daughters, Margaret and Jim Williams, Christine Bowers, Fern McIntosh, Judy Blankenship and Marla VonLinen all of Harrisburg, Geraldine Martin of Tuscola, Janice and Paul Biermann of Elsberry, Mo., Pat and Jerry Ferrell of Scott City, Mo., and Cindy Blackman of Scott City, Mo.; one sister, Louis Douglas of Harrisburg; 58 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Bethel; four sons, Kirk, Jack, Cecil Jr. and James E. Bethel; and three daughters, Linda Barefoot and Bethel twins who died at birth; three brothers, Fred, Zack and Buster Morris; and three sisters, Marie Hale, Icelee Feazel and Evalee Owens.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Williams and burial in the Blockhouse Cemetery.
