Sarah was daughter of Isaac Mowrer (1803?-1878) & Mary McAdams (1808-????).
Sarah married Henry Alexander Poe (1834-1882) on January 5, 1854 in Harrison County, Indiana. They had eight identified children - mostly identified from census data. Only three are known to have grown to adulthood and married.
Based on available information, Sarah and her husband, Henry A. Poe, moved from Harrison County, Indiana to Massac County, Illinois shortly after their marriage in 1854.
