occurred last Saturday morning. Uncle Henry Laughlin , an old and respected citizen, while on his way to visit relatives in Hickory Hill, was thrown from his buggy, recieving apparently slight injuries, but taking a chill Saturday morning he died from the effects from supposed internal injuries. He was taken to his home three and one half miles North of here, then taken to Xenia for burial.

Henry C Laughlin was the son of Charles and Rosanna "Bond" Laughlin of MO. Henry C went to Cal gold rush and returned with enough gold to buy 1 section of 640 acres. $2240 Records indicate that Henry and his father Charles were involved in the Mormon war of MO- which forced the Mormons to leave MO. Henry was a Civil war soldier from MO on the Union side. He married Sarah Horton daughter of Samuel and Sarah "Wilson" Horton. They had 4 children
