Russell Andris, 89, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 5, 2002) at Gibson City, Illinois.
Mr. Andris was born May 11, 1912, at Bellflower, a son of Joseph and Emma Hay Andris. He married Zovelda Mae Goodrich on Feb. 9, 1946, at Chicago. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Joseph Andris, Gibson City; Darrell (Mary Ellen) Andris, Normal; and Marvin (Linda) Andris, Milford; and two daughters, Carol (Donald) Dorward, Washington, and Janet (Norman) Diemer, Groveland.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, David, Philip, Jason and Ryan Andris; and Derek, Daniel and Melissa Diemer; and two stepgrandsons, Dr. James Dorward and Dr. David Dorward.
Two sisters, Lucy Andris and Marie Giertz, and two brothers, Wilson Andris and Milo Andris, preceded her in death.
Also preceding is a granddaughter, Stephanie Diemer.
Mr. Andris graduated from Bellflower High School in 1930. He moved to rural Saybrook as a young man in the spring of 1934. He engaged in farming until his retirement in 1978 when he moved to Gibson City.
He served as an elder at the Gibson City Bible Church and the Saybrook Christian Church. He was active in the E.U.B. Church at Saybrook.
