Browning, IL - Richard Baker, 87, of Route 1 died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at his residence.

Born Sept. 3, 1916, in Hickory Township, Schuyler County, to John C. and Kate Reno Baker, he married Florence Gust on Oct. 19, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gary (and Darlene) of Rushville; one daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Carol) Curless of Lewistown; one sister, Iola Vratis of Astoria; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

He was a lifelong farmer in Hickory Township.

He was a member of Bader Christian Church in Browning.

Graveside services will be in Bader Cemetery in Browning.
