Lottie F. Baker, 83, of McHenry and formerly of Lake Villa and Chicago's Beverly and Morgan Park areas, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Condell Hospital in Libertyville.
She was born June 22, 1925, in Chicago, to Franciszek and Katarzyna (Kaczor) Lash. She later married James R. Baker.
She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church of Round Lake, the Home Extension Hickory Knoll Unit, Antioch Senior Center, and formerly of Bethany Union Church of Chicago. She enjoyed reading, traveling with seniors, gardening, bowling, cooking, baking and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Patrick) Collins of Wildwood, Lauri (Terry) Hargrove of McHenry, Susan (Bill) Wilhite of McHenry, Michael Baker of Antioch and Steven (Penni) Baker of Wonder Lake; her 10 grandchildren, Matthew and Jamie Collins, Adam Hargrove, Kelly (Greg) Bays, Jaclyn and Ashley Wilhite, Jordan, Taylor, Ellianna and Cameron Baker; a brother, Eugene (Bernice) Lash of Florida; and three sisters-in-law, Carol Lash of South Haven, Mich., Jane Dumdei of Austin, Texas, and Frances Baker of San Diego.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Adeline (the late Delbert) Irving; and a brother, Frank Lash.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 12, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. The visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, until the 11 a.m. service at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2107 Lincoln Road, McHenry. The Rev. Kit Stanich will officiate. Interment will be in Avon Centre Cemetery in Lake Villa.
