Dennis L. Anderson, age 71, of Rockford, IL died at 5:57 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, after a sudden illness.
Born Oct. 21, 1940, in Gothenburg, NE, son of George Leonard and Bertha Louise (nee Bratten) Anderson. Married Karon Lee Troxel on Jan. 16, 1960, in Denver, CO. He was employed at Chrysler Corp. for 35 years and retired in June 2000, as a facility engineer. Member of Christ United Methodist Church, Model T Ford Club and the International Dodge Brothers Club.
Survivors include wife, Karon; daughters, Juleen (Jack) Varela of Olathe, KS, and Candace (Gregory) Wermager of Rockford; grandchildren, Garret and Rachel Wermager and Brianna, Joshua and Alexandria Varela; brother, Clayton Anderson; and sister, Patsy (Jim) Shores, all of Brady, NE.
Predeceased by brother, Bob.
Service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Road, Rockford, with the Rev. Laura Barkley officiating. Burial in Arlington Cemetery, Rockford. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the church, and from 10 a.m. Friday to service time.
Memorials may be given in care of the family for benefit of Christ United Methodist Church, The The Alzheimer's Association or Winnebago County Cancer Society
