Louise Andras, 87, of Roodhouse, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Edgewood Manor Retirement Home in White Hall. She was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Andrew O. and Louise R. Robertson Harris. She married John C. Andras on Dec. 25, 1949, at Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1980.
She survived by a daughter, Elise (husband, Tom) Singer of Arthur; two sons, Tom C. Andras of Roodhouse and J. Cennick (wife, Debbie) Andras of Connerville, Okla. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Andy, Paul and Steven Singer, and John, Jeffery and Whitney Andras. Two brothers, Charles and Frank Harris, both of Alexander, also survive. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel T., James O. and Andrew J. Harris.
Mrs. Andras attended Stevens College at Columbia, Mo., and the University of Illinois. She began teaching school in Franklin then at North Greene Schools in Roodhouse and White Hall, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Order of the Eastern Star in Manchester and served on the Roodhouse Library board for many years.
Services were entrusted to Airsman-Hires Funeral Home of Roodhouse, Illinois.
