August Anderson: But a little more than a month after the departure of his wife (Mathilda), Mr. Anderson, residing near Millersburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 28 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Huldah Unsworth, age 78 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Mr. Anderson was born in Viserum, Kalmar Lan, Sweden, August 18, 1837, arrived in America in 1870, and ever since that time has been a resident of Mercer County.

Mr. Anderson was a man with whom one enjoyed to associate. Always gentle and pleasing in his ways, he won the friendship of those with whom he came in touch. He loved his God and he loved his church, having been a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church of Aledo from its early beginning. Though failing in health for some time, his departure occurred quite unexpected.

Mr. Anderson leaves to mourn his loss, two children, John W. Anderson of Joy and Mrs. Hulda Unsworth, living near Millersburg; three grandchildren, Mattie Murdock (parents were Clarence and Amanda Anderson Murdock), Elsie(Alcy) Smith and Ralph E. Anderson (parents of both were Charles E. and Rhoena Murdock Anderson)of Aledo; half sister Eva Rosequist of Pennsylvania, brother John Frederick Anderson of Viola, as also other relatives and many friends "who will long cherish his memory in loving remembrance."

Funeral services were held from the Swedish Lutheran church on Thursday, March 30, 1916, by Rev. Joseph C. Mattson and the remains laid away in Aledo cemetery.
