POULTNEY - Rodney Scott Bibens, 63, died March 16, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Miller and Barbara (Treyfly) Bibens.
Following graduation from Springfield High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Bibens was employed as a long-distance truck driver for Dumas Trucking, Goddard's Trucking and Quality Carriers prior to retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed cutting wood, traveling and country music.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine (Howard) Bibens, whom he married Aug. 28, 1996; his father of Springfield; three stepchildren, Judy Colvin of Danby, Maria Blais of Mount Holly and Fred Colvin of Hubbardton; six siblings, Becky Warren of Washington, Dorothy Blais, Bill Bibens, both of Lubbock, Texas, Rosalie Pettiford of Watertown, N.Y., David Bibens of Baltimore, Vt., and Kib Bibens of Springfield; several step-grandchildren, a step-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother in 1978.
The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St., Fair Haven, followed by burial with military honors in Tinmouth Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
