WATERBURY — Frederick "Joe" J. Beloin, age 97, of Waterbury, and formerly of Milford, beloved and devoted husband to the late Cecile Chasse Beloin, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

Born on June 20, 1914, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie Francoeur Beloin. Frederick served with pride and honor in the U.S. Navy during WWII. For many years, he was a commercial shell fisherman with Tallmadge Brothers Oyster Co. He was a quiet, religious man who was devoted to the rosary. Quick witted, he always had a kind word to say. Frederick was known for his wonderful listening quality and was an extremely patient and compassionate man. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working in his garden. A loving father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by three sons, Robert F. Beloin and his wife, Michele, of Milford, Gary J. Beloin and his wife, Sharen, of Waterbury, David R. Beloin and his former wife, Kathi, of Ansonia; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and his longtime friend, Bill W.

A funeral service will be held at Cody-White Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford 06460.
