PROSPECT — Mr. Frank Argenta, 87, of Prospect, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Phyllis (DiPrimio) Argenta.
Frank was born in New Rochelle, N.Y. on Nov. 5, 1923, son of the late Frank and Anna (Molteni) Argenta. He was a graduate of New Rochelle High School, class of 1941 and Cheshire Academy.
He was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran, where he served with the 40th Photo Recon in India and Burma. He joined the Waterbury Fire Department in 1953 and retired in 1987, with the rank of battalion chief.
He was a member of the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association, the Elks Club No. 265 B.P.O.E., a member of the VFW Oakville Post 7330 and a member of the Waterbury Police and Fire Association.
He leaves a son, Frank Argenta and his wife, Lynn, of Middlebury; a daughter, Theresa Battistrada of Waterbury; a brother, Richard Argenta of Waterbury; four grandchildren, Taryn Argenta, Lauren Argenta, Douglas Battistrada, Leah Battistrada; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Argenta.
Arrangements: Funeral Tuesday, July 12, 9 a.m at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, to St. Anthony Church, Prospect, for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown, with full military honors. Calling hours Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
