WATERBURY — Mrs. Vera (Teta) Baker, 94, formerly of Center Street, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. Baker was born Dec. 27, 1912, in Cerreto Sannita, Benevento, Italy, a daughter of the late Ciriaco and Fiorina (Del Nigro) Teta. She was an employee of Eyelet Specialty and International Silver in Wallingford for 25 years before her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves two sons, Robert Baker of New Fairfield, and Joseph "Ray" Baker and his wife, Barbara, of Bristol; a brother, Adolph Teta of Waterbury; a sister, Rose Phelan of Middlebury; two grandchildren, Craig Baker and Kara Baker; a great-grandchild, Cainen Baker; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Anthony, Salvatore, Victor and Philip.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
