Dec. 17, 1803 Georges Township Fayette County Pennsylvania, USA
1887 Kelseyville Lake County California, USA
Daughter of Noah (1774-1838) and Sarah Clark Gard (1774-1840). Married Jeremiah Gard (a 2nd cousin) in Eaton, Preble County, Ohio on 28 November 1822.
(In the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Kelseyville there is a plot with 7 graves marked by headstones without inscriptions. The headstones are rectangular in shape, rough in finish and were carefully placed with the bases buried to keep them upright. A Stone, in this manner, was also placed on each corner of the plot. This is the only burial plot within the cemetery marked in this manner. The cemetery records only indicate that the plot was purchased by Levi Gard (Mahala's Son), date unknown. No records, of who is buried there, appear to exist. Both of the Levi Gards that once lived in Lake County along with members if their immediate families have known burials elsewhere. I am fairly confident that 6 of the graves are those of Mahala, her bachelor sons John, William and Jacob, and her spinster daughters Sarah and Rachel. All of them were residents of Kelsyville, California at the time of their death. The last grave, may contain the relocated remains of her husband Jeremiah or that of one of her grandchildren that died young.)
