Brunell Aas, 69, Stanley, died Sunday at his winter home in Apache Junction, Ariz. His funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at American Lutheran Church in Stanley with burial in the Fairview Cemetery, Stanley.
He was born June 1, 1915, at Blaisdell, a son of Bert and Marina Aas. He was reared there and married Edith Solberg June 30, 1942, at Shell Creek Lutheran Church, rural Blaisdell. They lived on a farm south of Blaisdell until 1952 when they moved to Stanley. They continued to live in Stanley, spending winters in Arizona.
Mr. Aas worked as a carpenter and journeyman electrician at Tioga and the Minot and Grand Forks Air Force Base and with Peter Kiewit Sons Construction Co., on missile silo construction. He worked as water and street superintendent in Stanley for 12 years before retiring.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church and a charter member of the Stanley Ambulance Squad.
Survivors: wife, daughter, Karen Johnson, Santa Fe, N.M. Visitation is Thursday at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley, prior to the funeral.
