OBITUARY OF MRS. HENRY W. MEYER

Mrs. Henry Meyer was born July 28, 1891, at Nokomis, Ill. She was baptised July 29, 1891, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Nokomis. On April 8, 1906, she was confirmed at the same church. Her confirmation memory verse was Psalm 27:1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?"

She was married to Henry W. Meyer on Feb. 4, 1915, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, northwest of Byron. They celebrated their forty-fifth wedding anniversary this spring.

She died on Wednesday, May 25, at her home in Deshler.

Their union was blessed with eleven children, all of whom are living: Mildred (Mrs. Erwin Hoops), Walter, Ruby (Mrs. Edwin Hoops), Wilma (Mrs. Rudolph Fangmeier), Victor, Raymond, Richard, Anita (Mrs. Bernard Betten), Betty (Mr. Bruno Fangmeier), Laverne and Orville.

There are five sons-in-law, and six daughters-in-law ; 32 grandchildren, two of whom are married, and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her husband.

Two sisters and one brother-in-law are still living. Her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and three grandchildren preceded her in death.

She had been in poor health for a number of years. Since her failing health she devoted most of her time to her home and her family.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from St Mark's Lutheran Church in Ruskin. Pastor Jack Schmidt officiated. His text for the funeral sermon was John 14:1-7. (In part) "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Fathers house are many mansions: If it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

She was taken to her final resting place in St. Mark's Cemetery by her six sons.

She will be mourned as a devoted wife and loving mother.
