Margaret Elizabeth (Bessie) Adams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ford, was born on a farm near Knoxville, Tennessee, July 10, 1884 and died at the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, Nebraska on October 31, 1974.
She grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee and Ashville, North Carolina and came to Nebraska in 1902 and lived with her aunt and uncle, Rev. Sam McIkkheran near Oak, Nebraska.
She was married to William Adams at Daykin, Nebraska January 5, 1911. They lived in the Ruskin, Oak and Nora communities. To this union were born eleven children, four of whom died in infancy.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1953; a son, Bryce in 1969 and a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Vivian) Hanley in 1972.
She is survived by five children, Rolland at home, Mrs. Clare (Edith) Rausher of Nelson, Mrs. Don (Margaret) Reed of Courtland, Kansas, John of Superior and Gerald of Hastings; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Alford Ford of Columbus, Georgia and a host of relatives and friends.
She was a loving wife and mother and her life was devoted to her family, friends, flowers, music and quilts.
Funeral services were held at the Nora United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 3, 1974. Pastor Weideman officiated. Burial was in the Nora Cemetery. The Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
