James Monroe Buffington was born May 13, 1887, a son of Oliver Perry an Elizabeth Penny Buffington. He was born in Kingston, Ill. and died in Hot Springs, South Dakota.On May 2nd, 1904 he married Ethel L. Kelly of Beverley, Ill. They were married in London, Missouri.
Their children were Elizabeth and Ray Monroe.
He began working at the State Bank of Hamlet, Nebr. in
1920.
James was from a large family of 8 boys and 3 girls.
His brothers were George W., John W., Oliver P., William G., Harry D., Bert H. and Sydney C. All three of his sisters preceded him in death.
