Ruth Ann Baker 77, Deshler, formerly Sutton, widow of Ira Sr., passed away June 4, 2009 at Parkview Haven Nursing Home, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 8 days. Ruth Ann was the daughter of the late Grover and Bertha (Kuch) Culp, born on 1/26/1932, in Fairbury
She is survived by her two children: Cheryl Bonin of Oak, Neb. and Ira Baker, Jr. of Sutton; five grandchildren; one great grandson; three brothers, Louis Culp, of Marshall, Mo.; John Culp, of Fairbury; and Russell Culp, also of Fairbury; five sisters: Leona Heyen of Hastings; Loretta Ayers of Fairbury; Muriel "Midge" Oliver of Burr Oak, Kan.; Dorothy Jonas of Independence, Mo.; Elsa Dafford of Burr Oak, Kan.; one half sister, Wilma Clark of Syracuse, New York; nieces, nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Ruth Ann Baker, the daughter of Grover and Bertha (Kuch) Culp, was born on January 26, 1932, in Fairbury, Nebraska. She passed away on June 4, 2009, at Parkview Haven Nursing Home in Deshler, Nebraska, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 8 days.
Ruth attended Edward and Park schools in the Fairbury area and was a Fairbury High School graduate. She was united in marriage to Ira Ethan Baker, Sr. on January 21, 1950, at the Baptist Fellowship Hall in Fairbury. Ruth and Ira were blessed with two children, Ira and Cheryl. During her lifetime Ruth lived in Fairbury, Alexandria, Davenport, Lincoln, Harvard, Sutton and Deshler. She enjoyed many different types of employment working in a cafe', grocery store, motel, and being a CSM while living in Sutton. She enjoyed quilting and embroidering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ira, Sr. on July 10, 2008; an infant that died in birth; sister, Margaret; brother, Earl Culp; and half sister, Marie Wilmont. She is survived by her two children: Cheryl Bonin and husband, Raymond of Oak, Nebraska; and Ira Baker, Jr. and wife, Audry of Sutton, NE; five grandchildren: Clinton Baker and Barbra Baker both of Sutton; Robert Bonin and wife, Tiffany of Bradshaw; Crystal Bonin of Oak, and finance' Cody Wyatt; Leanna Bonin of Oak; one great-grandson, Cooper; three brothers, Louis Culp and wife, Mary of Marshall, Missouri; John Culp and wife, Darlene of Fairbury; and Russell Culp and wife, Doris also of Fairbury; five sisters: Leona Heyen of Hastings; Loretta Ayers and husband, Ivan of Fairbury, Muriel "Midge" Oliver of Burr Oak, Kansas; Dorothy Jonas of Independence, Missouri; Elsa Dafford of Burr Oak, Kansas; one half sister, Wilma Clark of Syracuse, New York; nieces, nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services: Wednesday, June 10,2009, at 2:00 PM at Harmony Cemetery, rural Bruning, Nebraska.
