Robert W. Anderson 87, Firth, died Monday (12/24/07) in Firth. He was born October 20, 1920 in Waverly, Neb. to Oliver L. and Gladys M. (Coussins) Anderson. He was a retired auctioneer. He was a WWII Army veteran; a life-time member of VFW Post #4626; past Commander of Legion Post #295 in Firth, and a member of Zion Church. Robert farmed for many years and owned Firth Transfer before going to Auctioneer School. He also sold real estate.
Family includes: daughter, Marilyn Strahm, Lincoln; grandchildren and spouses, John and Kristie Strahm, Roger and Jeanette Strahm, all of Lincoln; Cherie and Edgar Circenis, Loveland, Colo.; Joy and Jason Helmink, Firth; brothers and sister-in-law, Jack Anderson, Lincoln; and Walter and Betty Anderson, Tucson, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Jiggs Scheffert, Lincoln; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; son-in-law, Keith; great-granddaughter, Leah; two brothers and one sister.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday (1/2/08) at Zion Church, 5511 South 27th Street, Lincoln 68512, with Pastor Stu Kerns officiating. Visitation: Tuesday (1/1/08) 4 to 8 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 North 27th Street, Lincoln. Burial: Firth Cemetery, Firth, Neb. Memorials may be given to Zion Church.
