Death of Nathaniel Abbott.
Nathaniel Abbott was born in Des Moines, Ia., [sic] October 2, 1837. When very young he went with his parents to Scott county, Missouri, [sic] where on September 17, 1857, he was joined in marriage to Mary Jane Cellan.
They came to Nebraska in 1885, settling on a farm near Ohiowa, where he lived until the death of his companion, since which time he has made his home with his children. He passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. A. Hall [sic] near Bird City, Kas., September 20, 1923, [sic] at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 18 days.
One brother and one sister survive him, also three sons and two daughters, twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren. The body was brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Squire Hall, at Strang, and the funeral services were held in the Strang United Brethren church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. E. H. Pontius. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of a host of friends.
