Paul Aaron Baird, 71, formerly of Kimball, died January 4 at St. Bernard's Medical Center, Jonesboro, Ark., after a brief illness.
He was born August 2, 1932 on a family farmstead near Brunswick, Neb. He married Berneta Rae Hulshizer of Long Pine, Neb. on July 22, 1952. He served in the Army, being stationed n Ft. Benning, Ga. In 1956, they moved to Kimball, Neb. where he worked as a long-haul trucker, operated a gas station, and sold motorcycles. He also worked as a machinist and then as purchasing agent for Accessory Sales, Inc.
In 1981, he and his wife moved to Fort Morgan, Colo., where he worked as purchasing agent for Maverick Stimulation until 1991. He moved to Pampa, Texas and then to Amarillo. In 2003, they relocated to Jonesboro, Ark. to be closer to their children.
Paul was a talented glassblower, tinsmith, fly tier, and handweaver.
Survivors include his wife, Berneta Baird of Jonesboro, Ark., three daughters and sons-in-law: and son and daugher-in-law; 10 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A private memorial service was planned for Jan. 8. Emerson Funeral Home, Jonesboro, Ark., handled local arrangements.
