Actor. Born in Washington, D.C., he served in the US Navy during World War I, later pursuing a career in acting. He made his big-screen debut in the "The Broken Violin" (1923) and went on to a became a familiar figure in over 250 films from 1923 to 1964. His movie credits include "The Lone Ranger" (1938), "Westbound Stage" (1940), "Buck Rogers" (1940), "The Cheyenne Kid" (1940), "The Stork Club" (1945), "Superman" (1948) and "Hangman's Knott" (1952). For television, he appeared on "The Roy Rogers Show", "The Gene Autry Show", "The Cisco Kid", "Boston Blackie" and many more. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
