Cole of Cliffside Park, NJ; three grandchildren: Brad Joseph and Lisa Marion Lombardo and Regina Catherine Young. Marion is also survived by her sisters, Eleanor Cuddeback and her husband, William of Tucson, AZ and Rita Colaiaco of Matamoras, PA; her sister-in-law; Eleanor Mead of Saranac Lake, NY, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Catherine Pflanz and her husband, Charles; her brother, Earl F. Mead, Jr.; her brother-in-law, Alteo Colaiaco and her son-in-law, Joseph M. Lombardo.
Marion was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, in Port Jervis and she was a woman with great faith and devotion to her religion.
She worked in retail at JJ Newberry's Variety Store, then as a bookkeeper for Crescent Silverplate Factory and ultimately partnered with her husband, Don in owning and operating Krauss Photo Service from 1961 to 1988, where among many roles she managed the finances and worked on photofinishing. Above all, Marion was most proud of raising and taking care of her family.
Mom, known to most as Nana, was the hub of our family and was the source of all news, whether it was a first tooth or the current national news. Mom enjoyed her photographs, her beautiful collection of music and time at the lake. She loved gardening, crafts, and traveling, whether it would be a local jaunt or visiting multiple European countries. She loved to hike and enjoyed and appreciated all nature from the sound of a babbling brook to the glory of a single autumn leaf.
She found beauty in everything and everyone she saw and was a very caring and loving person. She was very insightful and had a knack for imparting simple yet astoundingly wise guidance. She was not only a mother but a best friend to her kids. Mom lived for the love of her family and will be deeply missed.
