Ann Moore was the daughter of Captain Moses Moore and the former Miss Nancy Cox. Her father and grandfather, Aaron Moore, were both Patriots in the American Revolution. The Daughters of the American Revolution designated Aaron Moore DAR Ancestor Number A079220. (Reference DAR GRS at dar.org.)

Moses Moore was born November 29, 1762 Moses Moore married Nancy Cox on August 9, 1785 in Lincoln County North Carolina. Nancy Cox was born August 19, 1767 in New Jersey. Moses died December 5, 1832 and Nancy died September 6, 1847 in Gaston County North Carolina.
