Mary M. Locke of Mt. Pleasant, TX passed away on April 25, 2012 in Mt. Pleasant, TX. She was born on April 2, 1928 in Rattan, LA to the late Cleve and Zaidee (Evans) Vogel. Mary was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Tool for 35 years. She had many hobbies, including, sewing, cooking, oil painting, quilting, crocheting, hunting and fishing. Mary was active in volunteer work as First Lady in Tool, TX from1969 to1981, and later served on the Tool City Council from 1990 to 1994. She also taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir for 32 years. Mary did beautician work at Cedar Creek Nursing home. She also served on the United Land Board of Directors. Her first priority was making sure her family was cared for. Mary is preceded in death by three husbands, Buddy Metcalf, Oran White, and Millard Locke; her parents, Cleve and Zaidee Vogel; five brothers, Henry, Fred, Buck, Charles, and Paul; two sisters, Mildred and Willie Mae. Those left to celebrate her life are: three sons, Jimmy White of Mabank, TX, Robert White and wife Lori of Dunnellon, FL, and Tommy White and wife Ronda of Mt. Vernon, TX; as well as seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 26, 2012 from 6-8 pm at Anderson Clayton Bros. in Kemp. Services will be Friday April 27, 2012 at 10:00 am at Providence Baptist Church in Tool, TX.
