RIVERDALE - Viola Marie Taylor Linford-Carr came into the world on February 25, 1908 the twelfth child of Joseph and Sarah Barker Taylor. Viola lived 97 years. She had resided at Stoney Brooke in Riverdale for three years. She left this world to join her Heavenly Father and her loving family on April 13, 2005.
Viola grew up in the north end of Ogden, nestled in a neighborhood of aunts, uncles and cousins. She attended Mound Fort Elementary and Jr. High and Ogden High School. After high school she worked in the office of Drs. Dixon and Barber as their assistant.
Viola married her sweetheart George Linford on April 14, 1932. Viola and George were high school classmates and they began courting after he returned from an L.D.S. mission. Viola and George had 52 great years together. In 1984 he died following an accident.
Viola and George had four children, VaLois, Gerald, Sharol and Jon. She was a stay at home mom until the 2nd World War when she worked at Utah General Depot until after the war. She again entered the work force when in the mid 1950s she was employed by Gramercy School as an aid in the physically handicapped division.
