Charles P. Clester Dies This Morning At Athens Home
Has Been in Failing Health For Last Year.
Charles P. Clester, 79, a well-known resident of Athens County and once a member of the board of the county infirmary, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the home of Frank Junod, 127 West State street, where he had made his home for the last year. He had been in failing health for some months and his death resulted from complications. Mrs. Clester, who is left, has been in the Sheltering Arms hospital more than a year, confined there by a fractured hip.
Mr. Clester was born at Sugar Creek where he owned and operated a farm until twenty years ago when he disposed of his farm interests and moved to Athens, the home since that time. During his residence in Sugar Creek he was active in the Methodist Church and upon moving to Athens transferred his membership to the First Methodist Church.
Besides his widow, Mr. Clester leaves two daughters, Mrs. George Junod and Mrs. Joe D. Martin of Athens, also four grandchildren. While Mr. Clester was the last of his family his was the first death in his immediate family. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
