Services were held for Gene Frank Edwards, 68, of Houston were held April 3, 1998 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg with interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Roseberg. Dr. Allen Reasons officiated. Mr. Edwards was born July 29, 1929 in Tahoka, Texas and passed away March 31, 1998 in Houston, Texas.

He graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Houston and received his B.B.A degree from the University of Houston in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1948 to 1952 and was a member of Willow Meadows Baptist Church in Houston. He was raised a Master Mason in Walter M. Pierson Lodge No. 1339 and was Worshipful Master from 1981-82; Past Patron of Norma D. Allen Chapter No. 1050, O.E.S.; Past President of the Arabia Temple Shrine Bowlers and Steel Bandits; Past High Priest of Washington Chapter No. 2, Royal and Select Masters; Commander of Houston Commandery No. 95, Knights Templar; and was a 32nd Degree, Knight Commander of the Court of Honor, in the Houston Scottish Rite Bodies.

He is preceded in death by his father, J. Frank Edwards and brother-in-law, James W. Clift. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Blaka Edwards of Houston, Mother; Pauline Edwards of Houston, Sister; Betty Clift of Richmond, Nieces; Paula Gene Clift King and husband, Randy, of Dripping Springs, Jamie Clift Lorch and husband, Howard, of Houston, Joanne Clift Bobal and husband, Paul, of Houston, Mollie Clift Anthony and husband, Tom, of The Woodlands, 11 Grandnieces and grandnephews.

Pallbearers are Brandon and Steven Lorch, Justin and Garon King, James and Will Bobal, Adam Anthony, and Sam Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Bobal, Tom Anthony, Howard Lorch and Randy King.
