HARSH Paul Eugene Harsh, age 83, of Columbus, OH, retiring to Charleston, SC, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Monterey Care Center.
Paul was born in Galion, OH March 29, 1926 to the late Lester and Golda Harsh. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII from Jan 1944 to May 1946. He was a member Elder at James Island Christian Church in Charleston, SC.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Hap [Clifford] and sister Lou Ella Howard [Luella]. He is survived by his wife, Jean; children Paul (Pollie), Penny McCalla, Kathy (Adam) Moore, Gail (Bill) Friend; step-children, Jeni (Paul) Lewis, Jamie (Debi) Fagan, and Jill (Jerry) Willman; sister Elaine [Jean Elaine] Luscaleet; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, including his special fishing buddy, Tyler.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, SOUTHWEST CHAPEL, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 793 W. State St., Columbus, OH 43222.
