Betty Louise (Sine) Offenbacker, 63, of Harrisonburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Avante of Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Offenbacker was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Levels, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Marion Lee and Virginia Gladys (Collins) Sine.

She attended Broadway High School and was a member of the Mount Clinton Church of God. She worked in the restaurant of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and also worked for Avante of Harrisonburg for many years. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as trustee and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

On Nov. 11, 1974, she married Roy Lee Offenbacker Sr., who preceded her in death on April 7, 1992.

Mrs. Offenbacker is survived by a son, Larry N. Smith Jr., and wife, Tammy, of Linville; three daughters, Linda M. Cash and husband, Mike, of Timberville, Diana L. Contreras and husband, Ramon, of Harrisonburg, and Barbara D. Turner and husband, Kenneth, of Mount Jackson; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Legg-Offenbacker of Grottoes; two brothers, Kenneth Getz and Leo Getz; one sister, Mary Frances Thomas; 13 grandchildren, Ramon E. Contreras, Jennifer M. McNamara, Jewel M. Cash, Katrina M. Turner, Kenneth J. Turner Jr., Billie Jo Strawderman, Harry T. Cash, Roy Lee Offenbacker III, Nelson S. Contreras, Larry Nelson Smith III, Jesus M. Contreras, Heather M. Offenbacker and Christian M. Offenbacker; two stepgrandchildren, A.J. Legg and Candice Legg; five great-grandchildren, Joseph M. McNamara, Natalie M. Contreras, Jazzy A. Contreras, Cole E. Stover and Isabella E. Contreras; and her faithful companion of 19 years, Donnie Shifflett of Harrisonburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy L. Offenbacker Jr.; two brothers, Paul Getz and Carl Getz; two sisters, Marie Custer and Charlotte Offenbacker; and one great-grandchild, Andrew S. Contreras.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with the Rev. Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
