Bonnie Ruth Cozad Bearden, 68, of Remlap, AL passed away on May 10, 2012 at Noland Heath Center in Birmingham, AL. Born in Blount County she was the daughter of the late C.A. and Doris Newman Cozad. She is also preceded in death by husband Mutt Bearden, brothers James Smith and Chuck Smith and sisters Gracie Fetchen and Mary Cozad.
Mrs. Bearden was a bus driver/lunch attendant and worked for the Jefferson County Board of Education at Bottomfield School in Adamsville before her retirement. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She is survived by brothers: Norman "Sonny" Cozad (Juanita), Remlap, AL, Jack Cozad (Margean), Chatom, AL, Robert "Bob" Cozad (Betty) and Gerald "Jerry" Cozad (Evelyn) both of Remlap, AL; sisters: Evelyn Marie Adams (Dan Harbin) of Mt. Olive, AL, Helen Brown, Ohio, Dorothy Miller, Pennsylvania and Lou Revels of South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Davis officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Mount Cemetery in Remlap, AL.
Pallbearers: Justin Rowbatham, Mitch Cozad, Stevie Corbin, George Adams, Bobby Cozad, Larry Cozad, Kevin Cozad and Joe Shostak.
