Old Settlers Passed Away
Grim Reaper Death Again Busy in Our Community During Week.
Mrs. John Klobe, an old resident of Camden township, passed to the great beyond at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Christ Goetze, at two o'clock Saturday morning, January 18th, after a lingering illness of over a year, at the age of 86 years, 1 month and 13 days. The deceased was born in Lindewiese, Schloessing, Kreis Nensee, Germany, December 5, 1821, and was united in marriage to John Klobe in 1848. They immigrated to this country in 1857 and settled in Ohio. Here they resided until 1863, when they moved to this county and settled on a farm in Camden town, where the husband preceded her to the grave nearly thirteen years ago. Six children were born to the couple, two of whom are living, namely: Mrs. Hueser, of Oregon, and Mrs. Christ Goetze, of Camden town. The funeral took place Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and the remains were interred in the village cemetery east of town. Prof. O. A. Brandt of Waconia, delivered the funeral oration at the Singers' Hall. The Pionier Maennerchor also ably assisted at the hall and grave with a number of appropriate selections. Besides the two daughters already mentioned, the deceased is survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. May her soul rest in peace.
