Harold Gordon Barry, 66, died Tuesday at his home following a long illness.
A native of Pierce, Fl., he had lived in Palatka since 1970, coming from Hastings. He was retired after 35 years as a water plant operator with Georgia-Pacific Corporation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hastings. He was a former Lions Club member and former scout master in Hastings. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jean Barry of Palatka; two sons, Gordon Barry of Jacksonville, Ernest Barry of Lake Worth; three daughters, Renee Cone of Bardin, Gwen Bobbitt of East Palatka and Darlene Stallings of Francis; three sisters, Barbara Cowart of Seville, Esther Rogers of Valdosta, Ga., Mary Thompson of Crescent City; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka with Bro. Richard Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens with full military honors. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 22 Jul 1993.)
