MRS. CAIN DIES IN ST. THOMAS
Widow of M. J. Cain, Store Founder, Victim Of Heart Condition

Mrs. Margaret Nolan Cain, widow of Michael J. Cain, a founder of Cain-Sloan department store, died of a heart condition at 5:45 p.m. yesterday in St. Thomas hospital.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete pending arrival of a daughter, Mrs. Nestor R. Weigand, from Wichita, Kan. The body will be at home, 115 Jackson blvd, until arrangements are completed. Services will be at the Cathedral of the Incarnation conducted by a son, the Rev. John N. Cain of Tullahoma, Tenn.
Mrs. Cain was born in Chattanooga, daughter of Margaret and Robert Nolan. Mr. Nolan was a Chattanooga architect and contractor

NOTRE DAME GRADUATE

Mrs. Cain attended parochial schools of Chattanooga and later graduated from Notre Dame academy near Chattanooga.
She was married shortly afterward to Mr. Cain who was then a department manager of Timothy Brothers, a Chattanooga department store. After her marriage, they moved to Nashville, where Mr. Cain became a partner in the founding of Cain-Sloan company. He was made vice president of the newly formed store.

ACTIVE IN CHURCH AFFAIRS

Mr. Cain died in 1930, but Mrs. Cain remained a stockholder in the company. A son, Robert E. Cain, is now with the store.
Mrs. Cain, a communicant of the Catholic church, was active in various church groups during her life, but due to illness, was forced to lessen her participation. She was a member of the Centennial club.
Survivors besides Mrs. Weigand and John and Robert Cain include two other daughters, Miss Mary Dorothy Cain and Miss Madeleine Cain, and another son, Michael J. Cain, all of Nashville.
