ALLISON — Velma "Louise" Boydston, 76, of Allison died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in Wheeler.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Allison School in Allison with the Rev. F.R. Johnson and Mike Hulse officiating. Burial will follow in Zybach Cemetery. Arrangements are by Peppers Family Funeral Home in Wheeler.
Mrs. Boydston was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and beautiful Christian woman. She was born July 28, 1936, in Reydon, Okla., to Bruce Harrison and Laura Pearl Sanford Harrison. She attended school in Reydon. She married Clifton Boydston on Dec. 5, 1950, in Wheeler. They celebrated 52 wonderful years together until his passing on Dec. 26, 2002.
Mrs. Boydston showed her devotion to her family, friends, community and, most of all, her God. She faithfully served Allison United Pentecostal Church as secretary and musician for more than 25 years. She was well known for her fantastic cooking and especially for her signature homemade hot rolls. She kept her suitcase packed and was always ready to travel with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Harrison; a daughter, Wanda Walker; a grandson, Adam Martin; and a brother, Darrel Harrison.
Survivors include her mother, Laura Pearl Harrison of Elk City, Okla.; two sons, Gary Boydston and wife Julie and Bennie Boydston and wife Debra, all of Allison; five daughters, Shirley Chadwick of Allison, LaQuinta Hulse and husband Mike of Weatherford, Sue Martin and husband Ernie of Leedey, Okla., and Cheryl Dupont and Kim Thompson and husband Chuck, all of Amarillo; a son-in-law, Eddy Walker and wife Sheila of Allison; 21 grandchildren, Melissa Fleming and husband Kevin, Melody Draper and husband Richard, Jonathan Walker and wife Andrea, Justin Walker and wife Stephanie, Chris Chadwick and wife Patricia, Jeff Chadwick and wife Jennifer, Greg Boydston and wife Tiffanye, Amie Purcell and husband Doug, Michelle Phillips and husband Cory, Michael Hulse and wife Elizabeth, Jerimy Montgomery and wife Maura, Kristi Hansbro, Tim Montgomery, Heather Archer and husband Josh, Jason Boydston, Sabrina Hawks and husband Michael, Cody Dupont and wife Kristi, Kimber Davis and husband Jared, Christin, Brittany and Chase Thompson; 32 great-grandchildren; a brother, Willis Harrison and wife Mary of Rockwall; a sister, Vivian Wallace and husband Jimmy of Elk City, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Johnnie Harrison of Amarillo; her mother-in-law, Opal Boydston of Allison, who just celebrated her 100th birthday; and a host of other relatives.
