CALLAHAN -- Miss Nellie A., 79 years, died Monday morning at her home, 3330 East 19th Terrace. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Bridget Logan and her niece, Mary E. Mayer, both of the home. Funeral from the Parlors at 8:30 Wednesday morning. Services at Holy Name church 23rd and Benton. 9 o'clock. Interment St. Mary's cemetery. Quirk & Tobin Co.

Nellie was the sixth child and fifth daughter of twelve children born to Patrick "Daniel" CALLAGHAN and Margaret Bridget "Peggy" GRIFFIN.
She was baptized JUN 1862 in Shanvalla, Inagh, County Clare, Ireland.
And according to the 1910 Census she immigrated to the United States in 1884 age 22. The 1900 Census says it was 1885. She is listed as Naturalized, but the year is unknown.
On the 1900 Census, Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois Nellie, age 34, is a servant in the home (on Maple Avenue) of Dr. James "Howard" BURNS and his wife Edith FISHBACK BURNS
On the 1910 Census, Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois Nellie is 45 years old, listed as "Hired Girl - Housework" in the home of Thomas C. Hussey and his wife Nancy on North Main Street.
On the 1920 Census, Carrollton, Greene County, Illinois Nellie, age 48 is listed as a Boarder, living with Walter BROWN, his wife Martha, son, and daughter, and another boarder Jennie L. DAVIS. Nellie's occupation is listed as "Maid / Private Home"
