LAYTON--Willis "Bill" Forbes Evans, age 78, our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed from this life, April 10, 1999.
Bill was born Nov. 1, 1920 in Layton, Utah, a son of Glen and Margaret Forbes Evans. He attended area schools. He married Jeanell Nelson August 27, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared 57 wonderful years ofmarriage.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II. Bill was employed at the Clearfield Naval Supply Depot, where he retired after many years.
He held many callings in the LDS Church including positions in the bishopric. He was a faithful home teacher up to the time of his death. He was a faithful servant and had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a quiet example of that testimony.
Bill had a lifelong love for horses and working with them brought him great joy. He treasured his family and loved being with them more than anything.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and especially by his precious great grandchildren Sara, Kyle, Kendell and Britni.
Surviving are his wife of Layton; one son James (Tara) Evans, West Valley City, Utah; one daughter, Evelyn Wagner, Layton, Utah; four grandchildren, Tina and Russell Davis, Eric and Shari Wagner, Karen and Cheryl Evans, and four great grandchildren; also surviving are five brothers, LeGrand (Jean) Evans, Layton; Noal (Grace) Evans, So. Weber; Bob (Dixie) Evans, Layton; Otis (Faye) Adams, Layton; Ralph (Mary) Adams, Lebanon, Connecticut; three sisters, Carol (Paul) Allred, Roy; Norma (Joe) Cooper, Roseburg, Oregon; Ruth (Ed) Gibson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister-in-law, Erma Evans, Layton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Diamond and Harold, and a sister, Annie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 1999 at Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Family and friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
