OAKES, N.D. - Services for Mrs. John (Bertha) Griess, 78, who died Sunday, Feb. 21, were Wednesday, in Haugen-Baldwin funeral chapel here. Burial was at Herrick S.D.

Bertha Griess was born in Nebraska, June 18, 1892 and moved to South Dakota when a child. Her first husband, Reinhold Anhorn, died in 1920. She was married to Mr. Griess in 1925, and the couple moved to Oakes in 1941. John Griess died in 1956.

Survivors include three sons and three daughters, Victor Anhorn, Akron, Ohio; Alvin Anhorn, Honolulu; Raymond Griess, Aberdeen, S.D.; Mrs. L. (Elsie) Landeene, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Elmer (Dorothy) Lindseth and Mrs. Daniel (Shirley) Frojen, both of Oakes, 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one brother and seven sisters.
