William Henry Gabe Jr., "Bill," of Las Vegas passed away Oct. 14, 2012 at 79. Bill passed peacefully in his home in the company of his family, after a painful battle with cancer. He was born in San Bernardino, Calif., and lived in southern California for over 30 years. Bill served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 until 1954. He moved to Las Vegas in the mid-1960's where he worked at the Nevada Test Site before starting his own landscaping business. He would operate this business continuously for 43 years until retiring at 78. Bill enjoyed cooking for friends, boating, water skiing, hot rods and classic muscle cars. He is survived by brothers, Phil and Carl; two sons, Randy (Robyn) Gabe and Corey Lehman; daughter, Darby (John) Wallpher; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
