Mrs. Jasper C. Spooner is Dead.
Mrs. Jasper Clarence Spooner died at her
home in Vernon township Wednesday.
The funeral was held Thursday. The
services were conducted at the M. E.
church in that township Thursday
and the interment was in the new
cemetery close by. Mrs. Spooner was
the first person to be buried in it.
Mr. and Mrs. Spooner formerly resided
at Luverne, Iowa, and later lived
near Mallard. Last spring they
moved to Vernon and lived on one of
M. L. Brown's farms. The deceased
leaves a husband and one or two small
children. She was a worthy woman
in every way and her death at a time
when her care and attention were so
much needed will be sincerely mourned
by all who knew her.
In the 1900 census Ada and Jasper lived at Luverne and had a son David who was two.
Hers is one of only two stones found at this cemetery in October 2012. The sign said it is being returned to native prairie.
