Sadie was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the first child of John McGregor and Mary Boyd Scott. Mary died when Sadie was 2 years old, trying to give birth to her second child, (sadly neither mother or child survived).
John left Sadie with relatives in Pittsburgh and went to Oregon, that is where he met and married Minnie M. Howell-Hallam.
John brought Sadie to Oregon after he married Minnie, she was 9 years old at the time.
Sadie and Joseph were married in 1909.
They had one child Jane Virginia after 2 we’re stillborn.
